This vintage 1930s dress and bolero set was made from a sheer silk crepe chiffon material in a sweet shade of coral pink. Absolutely lovely, with the dress featuring a ruched empire style bodice adorned with little blue velvet bows across the ruffled neckline. A sleek paneled skirt falls to just above the ankles with a fluttery hem which gives an ethereal 'fairy-like' allure. Fully lined with an attached rayon slip for modesty, closing up the side with button snaps. The accompanying bolero jacket wraps adds a lovely texture thanks to the ruffled detail and puffed princess style sleeves. A truly special little set.
Quick Notes:
Era: 1930s
Brand: unbranded/homemade
Material: Silk crepe, rayon shell
Size: Extra small petite (please see measurements)
Condition: Hand washed and steamed. Crepe is strong with good stretch. The slip is longer than the outer layer due to hand washing and needs to be hemmed. There are a few small moth nibbles throughout but are not significant or large. One patched hole under the arm on the bolero that does not show when worn. Some very faint underarm yellowing at the very tips of the ruffles on the right side that is not distracting.
Measurements:
• Taken seam to seam laying flat, relaxed, then doubled
• Measurements given for comfort without applying stress to seams
