This 1930s dress was made from a semi sheer crisp silk organza in a ghostly shade of bone white. Bias cut with darling puffed sleeves edged in a sweet shade of sky blue cotton. This ethereal beauty has many noteworthy features, including scalloped cotton lace edges around the hanky-like yoke collar, rows of lace framed in bold triangle embroidery around the skirt, and a dramatic open back. This dress is truly remarkable, with a very wide tiered skirt that falls to the ankle with a slightly longer back and a ruffled hem. Closing at the side with button snaps and a supportive eye-hook at the waist band. A princess-perfect gown.

Quick Notes:

Era: 1930's

Brand: unbranded/homemade

Material: Silk organza

Size: Extra small, small (please see measurements)

Condition: Hand washed and steamed. Dress is intact and suitable for wear without stains A few patched areas on the very tops of the shoulders where the dress suffered some hanger fatigue. One small darned part on the edge of the right sleeve, and another bit of darning right at the point of the open back. Another mended split at the point of the neckline that is completely hidden under the yoke. Color is a grayish white-more white leaning, which I believe is due to age.
